About Finn

The Story Behind the Name: Finn was adopted by Sand Creek Intermediate School (SCI) in Fishers, IN. Our student body recently voted to change our mascot to the Sharks. Finn was the name chosen for the mascot. As a member of Student Council, I decided the change in mascot needed to be more “real” for the students. Living in Indiana, there are not too many sharks around! I discovered the SRC Adopt a Shark program on the internet and decided to make it happen for our school! Fundraisers were organized to raise money to adopt our shark. We held a student/teacher basketball game after school and made Adopting Finn bracelets and t-shirts. Our sales left us shy of our goal, but the PTO helped us out and completed the donation.
